WALT: Write an opening sentence that hooks the reader in.
Success Criteria:
• Makes the person who is reading it want to read more.
• Make them ask who,what, when and where things are happening.

Here are some samples

After school I went to John's house.
Our version:
"Knock,knock" I heard the door.

We went to the pools on Saturday.
Our version:
"Weeee Ka boom!"
We adventured into the warm atmosphere.

I was scared and walked into the forest.

Our Version:
The trees bristled as I took my first step into the sinster darkness.

  4. Lockie read me an interesting book called I wonder why spiders spin webs and other questions about creepy crawlies. He read it really well and learnt some very interesting facts about insects.

  5. Lockie read me another book titled Amazing pet records. Again he read it extremely well. This book had amazing facts about pets such as a tortoise that lived 188 years of age, a dog that does extreme sports with his owner and many other interesting stories.

  6. Lockie read Grandma mcgarvey and the puddle street gang and he read it very well and it was quite funny.
